A four-page framing sequence is written and drawn by Mike Mignola.
Synopsis
Opening (Mike Mignola)
In 1965, Hellboy explores a derelict building in Lebanon, Tennessee. An old issue of The Goon comic magazine is nailed to the floor with an old railroad spike. Pulling it free, Hellboy notices a figure somewhat resembling his self on the cover illustration. Seeing a vision of a pipe wrench, Hellboy suddenly recoils in pain as if struck – a KRANG rings out through the empty room, though no assailant or weapon is visible.
Story (Eric Powell)
Hellboy battles a wrench-wielding octopus on a biplane that is careening out of control, soon crashing on Lonely Street near the Goon and Franky.
Shenanigans ensue.
