Anastasia Bransfield is an archaeologist and former lover of Hellboy. She was created by Christopher Golden for his Hellboy novel The Lost Army.
Bransfield and Hellboy met and fell in love in June of 1979. Hellboy's infatuation was such that he nearly abandoned his responsibilities at the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense to spend time with her, to the disapproval of his adopted father Trevor Bruttenholm. In 1981, concerned that the relationship was costing Bransfield the respect of her peers, Hellboy broke it off.[1]
Trivia
