The backup story for Hellboy Animated Volume 1: The Black Wedding.
Synopsis
The story centers around a young Hellboy who becomes inspired by his hero, the radio pulp character Lobster Johnson. Lobster Johnson was a vigilante who worked in New York City during the 1930s, known for his violent methods against criminals and for burning his trademark lobster claw symbol into the foreheads of his victims. Young Hellboy listens to Lobster Johnson adventures on the radio and becomes captivated by the character's heroic exploits. Inspired by what he hears, Hellboy decides to emulate his radio hero by attempting to "foil" what he perceives as suspicious activity. The story follows Hellboy as he tries to inflict some imaginary justice of his own, mimicking the actions and style of Lobster Johnson. However, his well-intentioned but misguided attempts at heroism lead to complications as he gets carried away with his role-playing.
