Melchiorre's burgonet

Melchiorre's burgonet is a piece of armor worn by Ugo Melchiorre in the war against the Holy Roman Empire in the 16th century.
History
Ugo Melchiorre led the League of Cognac against the Holy Roman Empire during the War of the League of Cognac. He commanded an army at the Battle of Modena, where his troops were hopelessly outnumbered. Although the battle would have been a crushing defeat, Melchiorre's ferocity in battle initiated a miraculous rally, and Modena became one of the very few victories for the League of Cognac. Melchiorre should have died several times in the fight, but he managed to walk off the battlefield. As soon as his men removed his burgonet, Melchiorre dropped dead.
It has since been reported the Melchiorre's burgonet was capable of healing the lame. Its mystical nature was likely responsible for Melchiorre's survival during the Battle of Modena. In 1763 the burgonet fell into the possession of the Papacy. Shortly afterwards it was lost.
After the Second World War, the Special Sciences Service discovered the burgonet among the relics seized from the Nazis in 1946. In 1948 the burgonet was shipped from Murmansk to Tórshavn via submarine under the watch of Iosif Nichayko, but never arrived at its destination.
In August 1984, Abe Sapien was sent to recover the burgonet and managed to locate the sunken Russian submarine. Abe discovered that the burgonet is held protectively by Iosif, who had become a mindless zombie, and then decided in leaving the burgonet with Iosif, just before the Russian authorities launched their own recovery mission.
